3 Simple Steps To Health/Fitness
Just like drinking out of a firehose, the information age continues to pummel us with more data than we can possibly comprehend (let alone act on).
Our content-weary minds often lead to overwhelm and inefficiently moved bodies because of the confusion and frustration we experience from too much information.
This is especially true in the health and fitness world.
At 3 Pillars we are as frustrated as you with all the "extra". That's why our slogan is Health. Made Simple.
To help you simplify your approach to fitness/nutrition and eliminate useless hours working out, here are 3 Simple Steps to increase your heatlh/fitness.
Focus On Strength
Don't fall in love with all the gimmicks and pointless exercises you see on social media. Sure, they get lots of "likes" but they won't get you results. Focus on performing 2-3 full body workouts a week with a focus on gaining strength through major moves such as squats, deadlifts, presses and rows.
Note: Done properly, you can accomplish this in less than 30 minutes per workout.
Pursue Wellness
Wellness covers our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being but does not have to time-consuming and confusing. Focus on performing 1 or maybe 2 wellness activities a day. This could be as simple as having coffee with a friend or taking a quiet walk in the woods. Do these type of activities day after day and you'll be amazed how good you feel.
Prioritize Recovery
If you've ever noticed the lack of "recovery" talk on social media it's because it's not sexy enough to get lots of likes and follows. But make no mistake, it's in recovery that the magic happens. Recovery activities should be prioritized and include things like getting enough sleep, prayer/meditation, proper food choices, drinking enough water etc. When you start to prioritize recovery, it will be very little time before you see improvements in your strength and wellness areas as well.
Bonus Tip:
Don't give into the temptation to "build Rome in a day" Keep it simple. PIck 1 activity from each category above and you'll improve your current health and lay the building blocks for a healthier future.
